Summer Fun in America
Hey Lady!
I would love to see you around on Instagram, where I share more tips, tricks, and reviews. Please drop a line over there to let me know you’re there!
Summer usually brings everyone together, but this season has started off with a twist due to the Shelter in Place guidelines. Some of my favorite memories are from camp growing up (I started going to sleepover camp when I was 7!). Many camps are cancelled, but you can still have Summer Fun in America! Some of my girlfriends and I made up a song called “Summer Fun in America” and we can all still sing it word perfect. I’ll treat you ladies to a show (with the motions) on Instagram if I can get up the courage;)
Here are a few of my favorite tips to enjoy Summer Fun in America!
Treat yourself to a new suit (or better yet, matching suits if you have a little!). These suits are not cheap, but they are very well constructed and I’m obsessing over matching with Sadie Winn! They also have coordinating suits for little guys.
At home mani and pedi: I finally bit the bullet and gave myself a pedicure (I’ve been holding out for the salon to safely open, but it was getting to be dragon talons down there). I absolutely love the Olive and June Studio Set and highly recommend their sheer colors if you are a beginner! You can find more my full Olive and June review including their tutorial here.
As I have owned my previous swimsuit for multiple years, it’s worth the investment, but you need to take care of it to prevent the elastic from breaking! Forever New is my go-to secret for keeping suits… forever new. I have the travel packets in my luggage too, so I can put the powder with water in a sink anywhere!
I spill the beans on my favorite Peach Crumble recipe that includes my secret “Butter Massage” technique. This peach crisp will BLOW YOUR MIND.
Have a water balloon fight! Kids and adults just go ape sh*t for water balloons. You are not going to believe this, but they now make water balloons that fill themselves up AND seal themselves off. YES, I’M FOR REAL! If these existed 10 years ago, I could have saved DOZENS of hours I spent every summer filling water balloons, one by one, working at camp. Don’t forget to put some water in the bucket so the balloons don’t pop each other!
Bug Bite Thing: I always swell up with bug bites, but this Bug Bite Thing has been an absolute Godsend! It suctions the venom out after insect bites, which stops the itching. As Sheena said, “I have to tell you, I watched your IG live on the Bug Bite Thing and purchased it immediately… days later my daughter was bit on the arm and a huge hive swell up. We used The Bite Thing 3x and she immediately stopped crying! The hive was gone in about 20 minutes!”
A trick to immediately relieve the “sting” from getting stung by a bee? Make a paste with baking soda and a little water. Apply immediately and it’s MAGIC how the pain is gone.
The best tool to treat bug bites is prevention, of course. If you are looking for a repellant for your kids or self that is organic and deet-free, check out Hello Bello. It’s $7.98 and you can find it at Wal Mart!
