OVERALL: Thigh Society has. Hanged my life. They are far and away more comfortable than any product and actually stay in place unlike other shorts.

Chub Rub is another way of saying ‘chafing’ and effects women of most shapes and sizes including those with particularly muscular legs. I can only assume (but don’t want to imagine) it also effects men in kilts, as well as male athletes.

After a search online and poll of the ladies online, I road tested the 6 most recommended products and here they are in the order of my love and affection.

Mega Babe Thigh Rescue Anti Chafe stick ($14). VERDICT: worked the best of any product, wasn’t slimy.

BodyGlide for Her ($7.99): VERDICT: very effective but very slimy.

Bandlettes are stretchy lace that you wear like a garter under skirts and dresses.

Bandlettes ($20 shipped per pair): VERDICT: they made me feel strangely naked and did not stay in place.

Lush’s Silky Underwear: VERDICT: Not my cup of tea, mostly because of the mess.

Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel: ($5.98): VERDICT: meh. It feels smooth and not slimy or sticky, but doesn’t work as well as Body Glide.

These babies are not for the faint of heart. They are the strongest compression they offer and are for when you want to have your very own Bridgette Jones’ Moment and say Sayonara to Chub Rub!!

Now I want to know: has anyone actually successfully peed in Spanx without peeing themselves?

Thigh Society: My #1 pick (and I now wear these with every single dress). These are NON compressive shorts. They stay in place. The cargo shorts are my favorite when my dress doesn’t have pockets (they totally stay up, even with your phone in them and the phone feels lightweight). I like the cooling short for super hot days when I don’t need the pocket.

If you are wearing a dress that is form fitting, I am still a fan of Spanx. They smooth everything out, hold everything in and protect all thigh skin. I decided to splurge (as the last pair of compression undergarment I bought was for my wedding 7 years ago). Spanx On-Core High Waisted mid-thigh short. I highly recommend taking advantage of their Live Chat on the site to find exactly what you’re looking for. Have a tape measure handy so you can find your right size, and don’t be afraid to return (satisfaction guaranteed within 30 days!).
