Easy DIY Gumball Graduation Lei
This was given to my son years ago by his mentor at school and was a HUGE HIT!
It is a low skill, low time investment with high impact for the kindergartener or graduate in your life.
Shopping list:
Need 20-24 one inch gumballs for a child size (I like 1-2 colors)
Ribbon (I got one at Target and cut in half)
Scissors
Instructions:
Cut the poly bag to about 36”. It’s harder to fix it being too short so best to cut way bigger than you need.
Tie one double knot onto the poly bag about 4” in.
Then load in 24 gumballs.
Tie a knot close to the gumball on the other side super tight. Keep going down the line, squeezing the gumball closely to the one you just tied off as you go.
When you get to the last 2 gumballs, overlap the ends and tie in the middle of the 2 gumballs. Trim off the excess polybag.
Freshen up any ribbon with curling.
I chose pearled gumballs in 1 color for my niece’s gumball graduation lei! 1-2 colors look best.
