Five Word Review: Vibrant, SlinkySoft Swim + Loungewear, Obsessed
Short Story:
I came across Bimby and Roy on Instagram and was instantly charmed by the ‘Rifle Paper Co. meets Liberty of London’ vibrant floral prints. I was intrigued by the idea that you can sleep, swim and lounge in the items and that it is a small-business run by two moms and they have a solar powered facility in Fiji with on-site childcare.
These items have been bringing some energetic joy into my life and these days, I’ll take all the small joys I can get! I do have to note they Ship from Australia, so the shipping was $15. It’s a bit of an investment so I ordered an Ubi Robe and 2 Bralettes and love all three items!
BRALETTE
I ordered an XXL in the Bralette for pregnancy and nursing. I put the Bralette to the ultimate test by wearing it for 24 hours straight to sleep, swim and lounge in.
Swim: The fabric is a bit thinner than a usual bathing suit so (CON): your nips can be on display moreso than an average swim suit but (PRO): the fabric dried really quickly for continuing to wear to lounge in.
Sleep/Lounge: I find it to be super comfortable. The straps are adjustable and it provides light to moderate support.
I am so glad I bought two of the tops, as I wear them every evening/night and they are a favorite bathing suit top.
BOTTOMS
I am 25 weeks pregnant, so I have been wearing the Bralette to swim with high-waisted black bathing suit bottoms, but would like to place another order for the floral bottoms, as I love the mixing and matching!
NOTE: If you have any kind of dermatology or gynecologic issues, I would recommend wearing 100% cotton and using the bottoms for swim only.
UBI ROBE
The fabric is the same as the Bralette, so it is basically a super lightweight swim fabric. I love the look of it and it is slinky-soft. I am pregnant and would have ordered an XL, but it is one size-fits-all. It fits well overall and I am enjoying it, but it doesn’t look quite right when it is tied closed. It does have small pockets, which I love. I was worried it might be a bit tight in the arms, but that is no issue.
It’s pricey, but would make a really nice gift for a new/expectant mom (or any lady who likes to lounge).
ABOUT BIMBY AND ROY
“Designed in Australia. Manufactured ethically in our beloved Fiji islands, in the first solar powered facility in the region. Our designs are sublimated on our material, which is one of the most environmentally friendly printing processes (no ink dyes in water ways), and paper used during the process is frequently donated to Fiji recycling plants. In February 2019, with the help of the Australian Government, our manufacturer opened a child care centre, attached to the manufacturing facility. Fees are subsidized by the employer which allows mothers and/or fathers to have their children close by during working hours (unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the facility has closed but are in hopes to reopen in a more stabilized global climate). As mothers ourselves, we're incredibly proud to be associated with this initiative. “
