Our Place 'Always Pan' Review
I received the Always Pot as an incredibly generous birthday gift from my sweet sister. I wasn’t planning on doing a review because it’s kind of weird/rude to review a gift… but enough of you ladies want an unsponsored review, so here it goes!
From OurPlace.com, “Meet our cult-favorite best-selling Always Pan. This do-it-all wonder is designed to replace 8 traditional pieces of cookware. Plus, it looks pretty good too. THE ALWAYS PAN REPLACES YOUR fry pan, saute pan, steamer, skillet, saucier, saucepan, non-stick pan, spatula, and spoon rest.
WITH THE ALWAYS PAN, YOU CAN: braise, sear, steam, strain, saute, fry, boil, serve, store – you get the picture.”
I had never heard of Our Place before (but many of you had!), and was very impressed by it’s packaging and overall aesthetic.
She’s gorgeous BUT… can she cook?
One of my BFFs, Alex, is an everyday chef (literally, every day she cooks), and said “It’s amazing! I love it for everything; eggs, pancakes, and steaming! …to steam: fill the bottom with VERY little water, lower than the basket when it is in the pan. Be sure to add salt and it only takes about five minutes to steam veggies!”
The pot comes with instructions which recommend to never clean a ripping hot pan, so I have to consciously leave the washing for later… BUT, you can easily wipe out the pan while it’s hot.
So far, the most impressed I’ve been with it was when I boiled pasta in it, then used the side spout to pour out the pasta water (with the lid on). Then, I heated up Trader Joes frozen Turkey Bolognese sauce and added the pasta back in. It was SO easy to make and the dried tomato sauce wiped right out of the pan after.
Also (is it just me?), their colors are SEXY!
Another PRO: Their Customer Service
I had burned a pancake on my pan and Emily from Customer service was awesome. Here is their warranty policy: “Rather than a warranty, we are always happy to replace your Always Pan if there are any issues or if it's not up to your expectations. To get the most out of your Always Pan, we recommend using our wooden spatula (or another wooden or soft utensil), cooking at low to medium heat (the occasional sear is A-OK!), using high-smoke point fats (extra virgin olive, refined coconut, avocado, and peanut oils as well as clarified butter or ghee are great options!) and gently hand-washing with a soft sponge whenever possible. Here's a link to our Product Page with more use and care tips to help your Always Pan stay in great condition.

Cons:
Obviously, #1: the price. It’s expensive. However, it’s so multi-purpose and I could TOTALLY be happy with only this pan and a larger pot for making soups. It’s ideal for anyone… college student, single foodie or chef newbie, or a dad or mom. The only other con is that you can not use it on induction cooktops (they automatically turn off when something isn’t magnetic).
Is it worth the $$$?
If you are in the market for a pan, absolutely yes. TBH, if my husband ordered this, I probably would have been a bit miffed with him because we technically already have all the pots/pans we need, but would have gotten over it when it arrived and was so darn pretty and handy.
