UNSPONSORED REVIEW: PREGNANCY PILLOW

After a late night Instagram rabbit-hole, I found myself stalking all kinds of Scandinavian mom/influencers and they all seemed to have one thing in common (besides beautiful skin, hair, and smiles… likely the result of all that Hygge, no doubt): the BBHUGME. BBHUGME is a brand that makes both a pregnancy pillow and nursing pillow and was designed by a 3-lady dream team of chiropractors in Norway. I am SO GRATEFUL for that Scandinavian Instagram rabbit hole I fell down, because both the BBHUG me pregnancy and nursing pillows have been some of my most favorite purchases and I use them everyday.

This is the BBHUGME pregnancy pillow that can also be used for cuddling on the sofa. It is a bit bulky, so it’s not ideal for moving around or travel.

I have chronic back pain and tried to use a regular pregnancy pillow with my first, but it was too floppy and hard to get comfortable, so I went without. After falling in love with their nursing pillow, I had enough confidence to invest in the pregnancy pillow and… it’s my EVERY THING. I have to honestly tell you that our Temperpedic mattress + my BBHUGME pregnancy pillow have made a world of difference for my back pain, both in pregnancy, and postpartum (I’m still sleeping with it, 4 months after delivery!).

It’s not cheap. Let’s just get that out of the way. It’s $175 and worth every penny.

It is filled with hypoallergenic and eco-friendly micro-beads and you can adjust the ends to make it firmer or softer. I have washed the cover at least 2 dozen times and it looks as good as new (and is cute!). It comes with a case and you better believe I use it, even just for a weekend away because I never want to be without my pillow. I will be honest, my husband doesn’t LOVE having another item in the bed (sometimes we already end up with the pair of us, a toddler, newborn, wiener dog and terrier in our Queen)… but I have noticed a BIG difference with my back pain if I don’t have it. I particularly like nursing Sadie in my bed in the mornings and use it between my legs for side-lying while breastfeeding. It can also be used out on the sofa for breastfeeding and cuddling support. It is aesthetically pleasing, so I don’t mind having it out on our bed or sofa.

UNSPONSORED REVIEW: NURSING PILLOW

The nursing pillow was my first and gateway BBHUGME purchase and I praise the day I discovered it. I originally used it for nursing on-the-go with my first born, while My Brest Friend helped tremendously with learning to breastfeed at home. Now, for my second, I only use my BBHUGME for nursing, but I also use it for SO MUCH MORE!!! (see below). It is not cheap at $81, but I use it all day, everyday (even with my 5 months old), so it is VERY reasonable with cost-per-use.

It was the perfect tool to help make skin-to-skin comfortable in the hospital.

The BBHUGME nursing pillow was also great for walking around and holding my newborn.

I wear it while holding Sadie around the house, in-between nursing sessions.

The BBHUGME nursing pillow was also great for tummy time and infant massage.

I roll Sadie on top of it for Tummy Time (it also helps her to see my son and for them to connect) and for baby massage.

The BBHUGME nursing pillow was also great for securing to young children or grandparents to support them while holding my baby.

The BBHUGME nursing pillow was also great for securing to young children or grandparents to support them while holding my baby.

It is the perfect assistant for great-grandmas and kids to safely and comfortably hold baby, as you can tie it around the waist.

The nursing pillow is also not-cheap at $81, but it’s uses are endless. I couldn’t even begin to break down cost per use because I basically never take it off!

If you are looking for a pregnancy or nursing pillow, I could definitely add both to my list of #TracisTips!!
