Diaper Review
I’d love to connect with you on Instagram, where I share home, health and lifestyle tips!
I bought a ton of Honest diapers to begin with and was convinced I would only use those. Well, It turned out I was OBSESSED with the “wetness indicator” and Honest doesn’t have it (and I think they are pretty stiff). The wetness indicator is EVERYTHING, particularly if you have a tiny baby, as it can be hard to tell when they are wet. I pulled every top diaper contender from Target and put them to the test!
#TracisTip: Always size UP when you are buying diapers, particularly if your little one is between sizes. When the diaper is looser, it decreases the chances of diaper rash and skin irritation, as well as blowouts. A little space and air in there is good!
Below are my favorites.

OVERALL WINNER: Huggies Special Delivery (0.33 each). These are the diapers we use everyday. They are super soft (only second to Hello Bello), contain the mess well, have the wetness indicator for all sizes, and the prints are fairly cute. They are also easy to buy in boxes from Target. I try not to purchase based off of branding, but I do also love that they have diversity in their advertising/boxes including people of color (and dads!).
***Side note: I was a die hard Aden and Anais diaper fan before they were discontinued. If they ever starting producing them again I would go back to them galloping, with tears running down my face and kiss the executive who put them back into production.
RUNNER UP: Hello Bello (0.33 each). Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard started this “Premium for All” line and it does not disappoint! These are the softest diapers on the market, have a wetness indicator for sizes NB-2, work well, and have super cute prints (a huge plus for me personally). The price point is a full 0.10 less per diaper than Honest and they are way better in my opinion. You can find all the deets about Hello Bello here. The reason we don’t use these everyday is because selection has been slim at our local Walmart and the minimum to order online is $65. Hopefully as the company grows, it will be easier to buy them!
My favorite low-budget pick: Pampers Swaddlers. They are $0.28 each, super soft and have wetness indicator. Sesame Street is not my favorite, but everything else about them is great! They are not as soft as Hello Bello or Huggies Special Delivery, but are soft enough! They were also what was used in the hospital so I have a soft spot in my heart for their newborn size.
Here’s all the other diapers I tried, from most expensive to least:
