Tieks Leather Ballet Flats

I’d love to connect with you on Instagram, where I share home, health and lifestyle tips!

5 word Review:

Too Expensive, Quality Meh, Cute

Overall: I would hope if you are charging $175-$235 for your shoes DIRECTLY (i.e. no middle man), you would have banging customer care and a great return/exchange policy. The colors are fun but I can’t dish out that kind of cash without expectations for longevity, which is missing here. Once you wear your Tieks, you cannot return/exchange. Mine did not hold up well after a few wears.

I wanted to love Tieks so badly! I am a nurse working in a cancer center, so flats are my life. I splurged on these with HIGH expectations since there is no middle man and you purchase directly from company. These shoes are super soft but that means they scuff SO easily and you can see your toe outlines (I find it strange). Within the first few wears my toes went through the inner layer/liner of the shoe. I contacted Tieks and they begrudgingly replaced them. The second pair had the exact issue.

Return Policy: “Unworn Tieks can be exchanged or returned for a refund at any time” -from Tieks.com. If you wear the shoes and find out they are not great quality- that doesn’t qualify you for a return or exchange.

On the other hand: My cousin loves them, has a bunch of colors and I’ve heard others that like them too! I’ve heard you can line them yourself with moleskin to decrease the toe-outline issue.

I am OK with paying $200 for shoes but I am expecting those shoes to be my work horses. I want to wear them 3-5 times a week for 2+ years and be able to get them re-soled. Let me be clear, if they were $30 I would have a pair in every color because they are so cute and fun.

I can, however, highly recommend Tory Burch Reva Flats. I have owned my pair for FIVE YEARS people!! I’ve had them resoled and they just keep going. Buy up AT LEAST a half size, get the kind with elastic backs and ONLY buy from Nordstrom! That way if they aren’t your favorite/not comfortable you can return! They were $228. I received them as a group gift from my husband and some friends and have probably worn them 300+ times. They have been resoled by a cobbler, which was around $25-30 after using for 2 years.

My pick- Tory Burch Reva Flats.
