5 Word Review: My baby sleeps ALL night

I will come right out and be super honest here: I did not personally purchase the Snoo. I thank my lucky stars every night that we are borrowing it from a friend. That being said, if we couldn’t borrow it for #2, I would do WHATEVER it takes to make sure I have it in my home.

“Created by Dr. Harvey Karp, SNOO is a responsive bassinet that boosts sleep using rhythms that babies love! It also calms fussing quickly and prevents risky rolling. All that makes SNOO the world’s smartest, safest, most effective baby bed.

SLEEP & SOOTHING

  • Boosts sleep 1+ hours with unique womb-like rocking + white noise

  • “Hears” baby’s cries and automatically boosts sound + motion, just like an experienced caregiver (crying often calms in under a minute)

  • Helps most new babies within 1-2 days…and babies older than 6 weeks within 3-7 days

  • Naturally sleep trains babies; SNOO’s rhythms help infants learn to self-soothe and sleep through the night” www.happiestbaby.com

Now… what does a “responsive bassinet” set you back? $1160 (or $870 on sale, which it frequently is). I might add that the very popular Stokke bed is $799 and it just sits there. The Snoo states it will give each baby an extra 1-2 hours of sleep per night and you can use it for 6 months. If you bought it at the sale price that means it costs less than a grande chai latter per day.

We started using it our first day home from the hospital and right away I noticed I was waking him up to eat.

At the 4 week appointment our pediatrician told us not to let him sleep more than 5 hours but laughed out loud and said “but that’s not going to happen!” That night I didn’t set an alarm and woke up 6+ hours later feeling awful that I didn’t wake him up. He is now 4 months old and frequently sleeps from 7:30pm- 5am (then 5:30-7).

I will update this review once we transition Cohen to a crib with the weaning feature. Even if he has some trouble, I am so grateful we’ve had so much good, uninterrupted sleep. As an oncology nurse, I can’t afford to be working (or driving for that matter) sleep deprived and making mistakes.

Some ideas to buy it for less are to buy second hand or go in on it with another couple who’s baby will be 6 months in age from yours. They do have financing on the website, as well as a 30 day no-risk trial.
