Five Minute Morning Makeup

I’d love to connect with you on Instagram, where I share home, health and lifestyle tips!

Makeup secrets REVEALED! I’m cracking open my well loved makeup case to share some of my all-time favorite products.

Everything I know about makeup started with Carmindy. I LOVE Carmindy from What Not to Wear (from way back when). She has a great book that goes over her 5 minute face routine. I have been using it since college and it truly only takes 5 minutes. Watch her video to see her quick steps for morning makeup! I love you, Carmindy!

Below is all the makeup I wear in a day. For special occasions I’ll add a little more blush and some eyeshadows, but it really doesn’t change much! You may notice that all my makeup is from Sephora/not cheap. I’ve tried a ton of different brands, drugstore and department store, and these are my favorite. I personally think they stay on the longest and look the best, but if you have a drugstore favorite, please let me know! I find most of my makeup lasts 6+ months (except sunscreen/primer and foundation).

I start off with SuperGoop Unseen Sunscreen: ($34): This doubles as sunscreen and a matte primer. The sunscreen and primer actually work and it never clogs my pores.

I alternatively like using The Ordinary: High Spreadability Primer $7.90. TRACIS TIP within a Traci’s Tip… This primer is awesome! I’ve tried primers that cost 3x this price and this little guy does a great job! It’s from the brand ‘The Ordinary,’ which also has a Virgin Marula Oil that I love. It sometimes goes out of stock, but just put in your e-mail and Beautylish will e-mail you when it’s back. They also make a silicone version, which is only $4.90!

Make-Up Forever High Definition Foundation. This is the one make up piece I recommend to everyone: from someone who wants the bare minimum to a pro. It provides great coverage and stays on. It doesn’t smell badly like I’ve noticed with some drugstore foundations I’ve tried. I’m not linking because you should go into Sephora, find a sales clerk and ask for them to match your color for Foundation (don’t have them use the machine if they ask). They will do this for free.

Cle de Peau Concealer: OK… hear me out on this one. I read about this concealer in a Real Simple magazine asking for tips on everyone favorite beauty splurges. They carry it at Nordstrom and it had ridiculously good reviews. I ended up getting it OVER a year ago with a gift card and am so glad I did! I use it everyday and I still have a little left. It provides GREAT coverage and covers up my dark circles. $73.

Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff blush ($18): II love the color and consistency of this cream blush. Be sure to set it with powder of some kind.

TooFaced Better Than Sex Mascara: That’s quite a claim, but it’s pretty great mascara. I also really love DiorShow original mascara, but this one seems to last a bit longer/stay fresher for longer. $24

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Pen in “trooper.” If you NEVER have used eyeliner, then this will take some practice (but you can do it!), but if you have any experience with eyeliner, you will LOVE this pen. It doesn’t dry out and provides an awesome, milky black line. It is by far the easiest eyeliner I’ve used and it stays all day.

Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Mascara ($22): I have tried SO very many mascaras and this is my favorite for 3 reasons: it basically makes a tube over your lash, so it never smudges. It comes off with water at the end of the day, and stays all day. If you want to see my full mascara roundup review, click here.

Dior Lip Glow in Matte Pink: My friend Katrina told me about this one and I have to agree, it’s a great lip color! It goes on and stays on like a balm but provides lasting color. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but if you want to treat yourself to something special, it’s a bit of an all-arounder because its like a lipstick/gloss/balm in one. Don’t veer from this color- I tried the satin finish Lilac and didn’t love it.

Glossier Boy Brow in Blonde ($16): Love this for eyebrows, quick and easy.

Laura Mercier Secret Under Eye Brightening Powder ($28): This is basically shapewear in the lingerie world (i.e. it’s a workhorse and not really fun to spend money on)… BUT it really holds your concealer in place and brightens your face. I couldn’t believe when I got talked into purchasing it at the store, but love it and have used everyday for over a year.

That is everything I use everyday! Since I’ve had eyelash extensions I haven’t used the eyeliner or mascara in over a year, but I will be using them soon as I say goodbye to them. I hope you love Carmindy and her 5 Minute face as much as I do!

Last but not least this is the MOST amazing brush cleanser! It was made for the beauty blender, but I was not a fan of the beauty blender. I did however LOVE how the makeup melts off the brushes. This lasts forever, too! $14.
